Challenge LOs

We've been given a few challenges to try now as part of Now we're rockin'. On Wednesday we were to create a LO using 2 items from a list including - recolouring a photo, using a corner rounder, using at least 2 patterned papers from the free kit, using a new brush.

This is the LO I made, using a photo of Amy playing with her bubble blower. Supplies used: Sweet Shoppe carnival kit; Jason Gaylor Valentine brushes; Jesse Edwards journalling block.

Today is start-to-finish day. We were told to take a photo, where the subject was off-centre. Then we were to try to do the whole LO in half an hour! Was difficult, but I just managed it.

I've still to complete our prompt from Thursday (mini-album day), which was to make a thankful album.

Now we're Rockin'

Got my LO finished for the first lesson of this fantastic course. I'm really enjoying it, and there's been some lovely freebies too.

Also enjoying the challenges on the UKS cybercrop chat. We were challenged to use eyelets to make an embellishment, and today's challenge was to use some spray on a LO. I'd bought some Radiant Rain shimmering mist ages ago, but was too scared to try it, so it had been sitting on a shelf! I'm nearly finished working on a LO using the embellishment, just waiting for some paint to dry.

Busy, busy, busy

I'm loving the daily challenges in the UKS mystery cybercrop. So far we've done a tag, fingerprints, a bookmark and decorated a bag. It's hard work keeping up with the chat at times, but always fun to get to know more people on the board.

Aside from that, Now We're Rockin' has just started on JessicaSprague.com, I did Up and Running just before Christmas and LOVED it, so couldn't wait for this to start. I've learnt so much already about PSE and I'm only half way through the first task! Will post the LO when I'm finished it.

So, I'm thinking I'm not doing so well on my decision not to take on any more challenges till I'd finished the ones from last year, poor Scrap the Day, and the creative world a-z art journal have fallen by the wayside. Ah well, they're always there for me to go back too.

Cybercrop!!

Well, almost straight after my last post they did indeed announce the next UKS cybercrop. It's on the 6th-8th February and has a detectives/mystery theme. I'm in Special branch, enjoying the chat so far, though it is quite hard to keep up with. Also the lovely Quackas got me a mystery kit as I was still out when it was going to go on sale.

The class kits have gone up now, but I'm still swithering over which to buy.

2009 goals

   Over on Jessica Sprague.com there was a challenge to make a LO of our resolutions for 2009. The LO was to contain a recent photo of ourselves; to use at least 2 alphas/font for the title; to contain at least 3 resolutions and to contain some bling/glitter.

   I enjoyed this, and decided to start from the idea of putting the goals up on the fridge. I love my mum's bright green fridge, so that chose the colour for me. 

   I used Anna Aspnes paper, the brads, flowers, sequins and glitter alphas are all by Pattie Knox, the swirl is from the Up and Running class materials.

   

   Apart from that I'm still enjoying the 365 project, and am waiting eagerly for the announcement of another cybercorp on UKS, though it seems that could be March at the earliest, ah well, more time to save.

Clear out

Well, that's us taken the Christmas decorations down and put them away for another 11 months. I love how clear the place looks at this time, before all the everyday clutter comes back. We did take several black bags to the coup today so maybe there won't be so much in future.

I'm also going to go through my scrapping stash as I have so much, and some of it never gets used. First though, I have to do a cj entry on the subject 1963. Wish me luck!

On to the most important discussion point of the day - Matt Smith, what will he be like as the New Doctor? I reckon he looks odd enough to play the part, but he's ever so young!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Hiya, welcome to 2009. Hope it's got off to a good start. We had a good evening last night, Amy went to sleep by 8 pm and we watched a Bill Bailey DVD which we stopped in time to watch the bells.

Today has been a quiet day, I'm building up the energy to go through my stash to thin it down a little, there's too much of it. I did buy some more yesterday though as I had vouchers. I got myself a Crop-a-dile Big Bite. Haven't been brave enough to try it yet! 

My last photo of the day is this one. This little calendar sits on the mantelpiece. 

I've enjoyed taking a photo every day, so have decided to continue on with project 365 to take a photo every day of 2009. I've started up a separate blog for that, so this can revert to more of a scrapping one now I've found out how fun blogs can be:D.
