Saturday:)

Hooray, I've got my advent calendar! Mum still always buys us each one, and there's one for Amy too this year. I think the Dalek might be trying to steal the chocolate though.

Amy rediscovered her Dora mask from Halloween, though I had to make a new one as the old one was a bit tatty. She wore it to visit granny and papa. Round her neck you can see her 'medal'. Ever since the Olympics she's loved running round the room to win a medal, and she loves using this memory stick. A true 21st century girl!

We've now got lights up in the window, ready for the local Yuletide festival. They want every house on the High Street to have lights for the lantern parade. I've taken a photo, will add it later when we've put up the rest.

Singing Kettle!

Today the toddler group had a trip to see a show - The Singing Kettle. This has been running since I was little, and I'm sure at least one of the people in it has been there for 20 years. Amy loved it! I wasn't sure if she'd be scared, as it's so noisy and a bit dark, but she had a great time.

For today's photo I took a picture of a little crochet teddy bear I've hung on the tree. I learnt to make these just before Amy was born, originally as gifts for friends who'd just had babies. This one looked so Christmassy!

I've taken a few photos today, think today would be best summed up by this one.

It shows the wonderful artwork done by Amy today at Arty's, the art/play session she goes to. They now have pride of place on the fridge - and all the excess glitter has pride of place on the floor at the base of the fridge, ah well.

l-o-o-n-g day!

Well, today started at half-4 this morning. I had to get up to drive Peter to Queen Street station so he could get the 6 o'clock train to Edinburgh, and from there get to Durham for the day.

Luckily the roads were better than yesterday, and there's no traffic in town at that time of the morning (what a surprise!).

Later I decided to go into Glasgow again with Amy, this time taking the train. It wasn't as busy as I thought it would be, and I got a fair bit of Christmas shopping done.

We did spend some time in Princes Square, with Amy running around. This let me take todays photo-of-the-day (and a few more).

This is the tree that's at the centre of Princes Mall just now, and this is Amy running round it, lol.

We also spent some time this morning putting decorations up around the house. We'll continue with that tomorrow, so I'll take photos of that then.

Paper chains!!!

Me and Amy had great fun this afternoon making paper chains. I brought out a pile of printer paper and shiny card, and let her go mad with pens and crayons on it. Looks pretty good, think I'll put it up in her room. Here she is hard at work using my lovely pens, though I barely use them so I'm not fussed. I think it tired her out as she had a long nap on the sofa later!

Otherwise today we had toddlers. After being so cold yesterday I heard it raining last night. It must have hailed or snowed (or both) too as the road was white when I looked out this morning. The pavements were awful, but having the buggy seemed to help. It hadn't got much better by this evening. I'm just hoping it'll all thaw overnight as I'm meant to drop Peter off in town tomorrow morning for the 6 o'clock train to Edinburgh!

It's December!!!

Yay, though in common with most people I'm a bit behind where I'd like to be now. I meant to do the Ali Edwards Daily December album, but haven't made it yet, so I'll try to use this blog as a daily diary instead for December.

This year we want to get our decorations up early so I've spent the morning sorting through Amy's toys and taking most of them upstairs so there'll be plenty of space for the tree.

Over on Jessica Sprague.com there's been a discussion about taking a photo a day for December. I know I don't know as much about photography as a lot of the people on there, but I did go out this morning in the frost to take some photos of the garden. I even had my camera on manual for some of them. Now I can't decide which of these to put up as my photo for the day.

Now I'm just waiting for Amy to wake up so we can nip to the post office to post a circle journal. Our plan after that - paper chains!!

Digi scrapping a-go-go

Well, after enjoying the Stories in Hand class over at Jessica Sprague.com, I decided to go ahead and take the Up and Running class to learn Photoshop. I've just finished lesson 1, here's the result.

It's a self-paced class, which is great, though I'm missing the busyness of the SIH message board. I definitely think I could get to like digi scrapping, though I may need a faster computer.

Our last assignment in the SIH class was to create a LO from a template, here's mine.
